Utah cities: Follow Salt Lake City and make the pride flag a city emblem

Utah cities: Follow Salt Lake City and make the pride flag a city emblem
The Issue
Salt Lake City just made history by adopting a new city flag that proudly includes the LGBTQ+ rainbow and transgender colors—right as Utah’s ban on so-called "unsanctioned" flags at government buildings went into effect. The new flag stands as a bold act of inclusion and defiance, and it sends a message that our LGBTQ+ neighbors are valued, not erased.
This isn’t just about a flag. It’s about showing LGBTQ+ Utahns that they are not invisible in their own communities. That their history, struggles, and joy deserve to be seen.
We call on other cities across Utah—Provo, Park City, St. George, Moab, Ogden, Logan, and beyond—to follow Salt Lake City's lead and adopt inclusive city flags that honor their LGBTQ+ residents. It’s time to take a visible stand for dignity, inclusion, and resilience.
State lawmakers may try to silence LGBTQ+ visibility, but cities can speak louder. When local governments act with courage, they protect the very people who make their cities thrive.
Join us in asking cities across Utah to fly flags that reflect their full communities—not just what the legislature allows.
Sign now to support pride, visibility, and belonging in every corner of Utah.
