Mari Mennel-Bell started this petition to kesquibel@utah.gov and

Many moose and deer cross heavily trafficked SR 224 from the mountains into the basin in Park City UT. On Oct 2nd a Mama moose, was killed by a speeding car as she attempted to cross. Her baby tried to follow her, finally managed to cross in speeding traffic, and was found dead near her body the next morning.

We request that federal funds for a vitally important wildlife overpass be included as part of the SR 224 Bus Rapid Transit Project!

We need the entire stretch of SR 224 from I80 exit to Park City UT to be 45 mph! The Grand Tetons and Yellowstone Park authorities have proven that cars can stop in time for wildlife to survive if they are traveling 45 mph. We need extra Summit County Sheriffs to patrol, issue warnings, and ticket.

We immediately need large signage with a moose pictogram & verbiage STOP FOR MOOSE at Cutter Lane & SR 224 where the moose cross.

Plz don’t let this innocent mama moose and her baby have died in vain! Fix this stretch of highly trafficked SR 224 ASAP!
