The Issue

USPS employees in over 38,000 post offices throughout the USA get the chance to work with safer distancing when mail volumes decrease.

Temporarily (during COVID-19) eliminate the delivery of Bulk Business Mail, or "junk-mail", which can be well over 50% of all daily mail, and allows:

  • BY SEPARATING CLERKS AND STAGGERING SHIFTS OF CARRIERS THERE IS NO OVERLAP and NO CROSS-CONTAMINATION. DISTANCES BETWEEN EMPLOYEES DOUBLE and ELIMINATE UNNECESSARY MOVEMENTS on the post office work floor.
  • A POST OFFICE DOES NOT LOSE ALL OPERATIONS when clerks or one of the shifts of carriers goes down due to COVID-19.
  • CARRIERS CAN SHORTEN TIMES in the office (sorting) and on  routes (delivering), They can better split unmanned routes as absenteeism spikes.
  • INFECTION AND DEATH ARE OCCURRING NOW AT USPS. Its numbers will mirror the nation's exponential curves. To what extent will post offices have to close and leave entire communities without reliable mail delivery?
  • PROCESSING FACILITIES GET TO CLOSE TO CLEAN INFECTED AREAS.
  • USPS IS ENGAGED IN MISINFORMATION. They claim to follow CDC guidelines, but they only follow guidelines to continue "business as usual" which includes delivering "junk-mail".
  • CHECK OUT THE MISINFORMATION:
  • Interim Guidance for Businesses and Employers to Plan and Respond to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
  • USPS SPECIFICALLY DOES NOT FOLLOW CDC RECOMMENDATIONS TO:
    • Assess essential business functions
    • Temporarily suspend some operations if needed
    • Determine how you will operate if absenteeism spikes
    • Establish social distancing, e.g. staggering shifts
  • Over 400,000 carriers, clerks, managers, and processing facility workers need your support NOW!
