Arkansas will have a billion dollar surplus again in 2022. Sign this petition to help Arkansans for World-Class Education send a strong message to Governor Hutchinson and our legislators.  While it is not binding, it is a way to make our voices heard. Let them know that Arkansans want that surplus money spent on public education , with these priorities:

1)Increase pay for all teachers and staff in public schools across the state ,  and guarantee a 5% increase per year for the next three years . 

2)$400.00 increase in funding per student in every public school district, to be used to benefit students , and to be determined by locally elected school boards. 

3) expand on current pre K programs to move Arkansas toward universal pre K. 

We are facing a monumental crisis in public education if these actions are not taken soon.  Teachers are leaving the profession and so are other public school employees.   It is past time to prioritize public education.
