Petition updateUse Saint John Municipal Funds to Build Public HousingRenter's Bill of Rights, but what if you can't afford rent?

Ottawa has proposed a renter's Bill of Rights

Yay

But what if you can't afford your rent because landlords from other provinces don't care if you go homeless?

What about massive housing corporations that have a fiduciary responsibility to profit and profit only?

Will it matter that you get a credit score bump when you get evicted?

No

Profit is driving rents sky high

Then landlords on the advice of algorithms list their apartments at "market rate" and the climb towards $2000/mo single bedroom apartments continues in Saint John.

If our government has a responsibility it's to the greatest good of the greatest number of constituents

This is why we must change the narrative and discussion around housing.

Could you have one conversation today about public housing if it meant we could end the housing crisis in our city?

Could you ask if the people you already talked to actually signed?

I believe in us

I know you believed enough to put your name down

And thank you for that

We are at 190 people and only 10 people from our next goal of 200

Do you think we can get there today?

Our government thinks we don't care. I know we do.

Let's keep going!

Andrew
