USDOJ-Middle District of Tennessee: Eliminate Daylight Savings Time in Middle Tennessee

USDOJ-Middle District of Tennessee: Eliminate Daylight Savings Time in Middle Tennessee
The Issue
Nashville and the Middle Tennessee area is the eastern most part of the Central time zone. Nashville is actually further east than Indianapolis and Louisville, both which are in the Eastern Time Zone.
Many parts of rural Tennessee, predominantly farmers, oppose daylight saving time because their days are controlled by the sun instead of the clock. Some farmers believe that their productivity is at stake because they are missing one extra hour of sunlight in the morning.
But, mainly, it gets dark so early in the winter...around 4:30 pm in the dead of winter. This happens no where else in the United States. Indianpolis and Phoenix are major cities who have also adapted Daylight Savings time in the past
This petition is to challenge the Department of Justice in Middle Tennessee to not recognize Daylight Savings time in the Nashville area.
