In our world, there are very few problems as pressing as the declining population of the bees. The bee population has been rapidly declining due to the extensive use of pesticides that are highly toxic to bees. One of the most important ways that bees benefit the planet is by pollinating crops. Bees pollinate billions of dollars worth of crops in the world each year, and this pollination allows us to enjoy many great foods that we consume daily, such as blueberries, cherries, apples, watermelons, and so forth. Humans are also not the only species that need bees to survive; nearly all birds and mammals thrive off of pollinated plants, and without bees to provide these plants, food chains can become disrupted and cause significant damage to ecosystems all around the world.

To tackle this issue, we must limit the use of pesticides which are highly toxic to bees. Endosulfan (brand name Thiodan), a pesticide which is highly toxic to bees is one of few pesticides that provide more harm than good to our health and environment. This pesticide along with many others (ex. Propoxur, Carbofuran, Chlorpyrifos) should be banned entirely to preserve the bee population. By supporting this petition, you can bring attention to this hidden issue within our globe and save the bees!
