Bowling in the Olympics

The Issue

Bowling is not only a popular sport for people as recreation, but it is an incredible sport regarding athletic ability. Professional bowling on the PBA Tour is becoming more and more well-known. The sport has spread internationally. With bowling's increasing popularity, diverse forms of play, and entertainment value, it would be a great addition to the Summer Olympics.

Although it's not as watched as sports like baseball, football, and basketball, bowling still provides a great foundation for being an enjoyable and competitive sport. Bowling involves a large amount of strategy, concentration, and discipline. Even though bowling seems easy and self-explanatory, it's the careful adjusting and advanced knowledge that makes it comparable to popular sports. You don't even need to have a certain body type for bowling. Anyone and everyone can become a great bowler.

Bowling is known as an individual sport, but there are also leagues where up to 5 people compete at once. Team matchups could be the best way to get it into the Olympics since bowlers can represent their nation rather than themselves. Even people who may not be considered professional could find themselves in a tense competition such as the Olympics. It has been proven scientifically that bowling not only has health benefits, but it provides a fun environment, especially bowling with friends.

The US may be the center point for bowling, but bowling has a strong community throughout the world. Some of the best bowlers on tour are international players. There could easily be several nations represented in the Olympics. I personally believe that bowling being added to the Olympics will help the sport gain popularity and hopefully get more people involved.
