As you read this, thousands of American Indian tribe members and their supporters are assembling to protect the land of the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation and the waters of the Missouri River and Lake Oahe . These protesters have set out to block construction of the Dakota Access pipeline through their land. As their numbers grow, the response by the State and Military have grown more aggressive,  arresting peaceful demonstrators and cutting off vital supplies to their encampments.

These actions have gone largely unnoticed by the major media outlets. The goal of this petition is having journalists on the ground to provide coverage of these events as they unfold.

This is an issue which has the potential to impact millions of Americans. It is the duty of the major news outlets to inform people of events and situations which affect their lives.
