Israel has been expanding its “settlements” in Palestinian land since 1967. Despite being in flagrant violation of international law, the “settler” population has grown to exceed 700,000. Now the Israeli government intends to enact an annexation plan that would formalize even further the wholesale stealing of Palestinian land.

Legitimizing the annexation of the West Bank would deal a fatal blow for any chance of a negotiated peace in Israel/Palestine. It would in fact legitimize the apartheid regime that has dictated the abusive treatment of Palestinians for years.

Today, each of the "inhuman acts" defined in the 1973 International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid is inflicted on the Palestinian people with the complicity of the US government.

It is time, We the People, take off our blinders and take our legislators to task. We must tell them not to keep aiding and abetting an apartheid regime. The goal of justice and equality for Palestinians must be achieved. Israel must understand that if annexation is not abandoned, it will face financial consequences.
