A Small Victory

Last night we got word that a politician was going to put a last minute item on the Caddo Parish Commission agenda to bring a vote endorsing building through the Allendale neighborhood and destroying homes. We turned up at the meeting in good numbers to speak in opposition to the build and the motion to add the item before it's even discussed. We then waived our more than thirty minutes of time to allotted to speak as a courtesy to the Commission except for one neighbor who got up to seize the opportunity. He said; "It's not what you hear that we live here because we haven't got anyplace else to go, it that we don't want to go anywhere else but Allendale."
