As of today, the situation of our 101 detained members in Turkey remains concerning. Disturbing reports have emerged, indicating that some of our detained Azeri members are being coerced into writing notes denying any form of abuse and mistreatment by the Turkish authorities within the Edirne deportation center.

Yesterday, the prison director summoned four of the detained Azeri members to his office, informing them that their lawyer had filed a complaint about physical abuse within the camp. The director specifically mentioned their names, stating that they were the ones who had reported being subjected to violence and experiencing problems while in detention.

Consequently, the director pressured our Azeri members to provide handwritten notes denying the reported abuse. However, they refused to comply with the demands, opting not to sign any statements that would contradict their earlier testimonies.

In response to their refusal, the director resorted to intimidation, issuing threats against them. He warned them that if they persisted in making complaints, he possessed the authority to transfer them to different camps, where they would be scattered among various locations as a form of punishment.

Thereupon, our Azeri members managed to contact their lawyer, Emrah, who promptly advised them not to sign anything and not to provide any handwritten notes under pressure. Emrah assured them of his visit to the prison on the following day, to address the situation firsthand.

As the situation continues to unfold, it appears the Turkish authorities persist in subjecting the detained members to forms of coercion, intimidation, and threats in an attempt to cover up the reported incidents of abuse and mistreatment our detained members have constantly been subjected to within the Edirne deportation center.

بالأمس، استدعى مدير المركز أربعة من الأعضاء الأذريين المحتجزين إلى مكتبه، وأبلغهم أن محاميهم قد تقدم بشكوى بشأن الإعتداء الجسدي الذي تعرضوا لها داخل المركز، وذكر المدير أسماءهم على وجه التحديد، وقال إنهم هم الذين أبلغوا عن تعرضهم للعنف ومعاناتهم من مشاكل أثناء الاحتجاز

وبالتالي، ضغط المدير على أعضائنا الأذريين لتقديم ملاحظات مكتوبة بخط اليد تنفي الإساءة المبلغ عنها، إلا أنهم رفضوا الامتثال لمطالبه، واختاروا عدم التوقيع على أي بيانات من شأنها أن تتعارض مع شهاداتهم السابقة

ورداً على رفضهم، لجأ المدير إلى ترهيبهم وتهديدهم وحذرهم من أنهم إذا أصروا على تقديم الشكاوى، فإنه يمتلك سلطة نقلهم إلى معسكرات مختلفة، حيث سيتم تفريقهم بين أماكن مختلفة كشكل من أشكال العقاب

فاتصل أعضاؤنا الأذريون بمحاميهم إمرا الذي نصحهم على الفور بعدم التوقيع على أي شيء وعدم تقديم أي ملاحظات مكتوبة بخط اليد تحت أي ضغط وأكد لهم أنه سيقوم بزيارتهم في اليوم التالي للتعامل مع الوضع بشكل مباشر

ومع استمرار تطور الوضع، يبدو أن السلطات التركية مستمرة في تعريض الأعضاء المحتجزين لأشكال من الإكراه والترهيب والتهديد في محاولة للتستر على حوادث الإساءة وسوء المعاملة المبلغ عنها التي تعرض لها أعضاؤنا المحتجزون باستمرار داخل مركز إبعاد أدرنة
