UPDATE: We Have 15 More Days to Fight for 7-OH

We have BIG news for everyone who signed this petition and stood with us.

HHS has officially reopened and extended the public comment period on the proposed 7-OH scheduling threshold through September 10.

For those of you who have been following this fight through Change.org, this is an important new development, and it did not happen by accident.

Since the original comment period closed, 7-HOPE Alliance has continued working behind the scenes every single day with partners, policymakers, scientists and advocates to push for more time, more consideration and a better path forward.

At the same time, thousands of you made your voices impossible to ignore by signing this petition, submitting comments, making calls, sharing your stories and standing up for continued access to 7-OH.

That work is making a difference. We got their attention. And now we have 15 more days.

HHS says the extension is intended to give interested parties additional time to submit comments, which will then be provided for consideration to the Attorney General.

But this is not the finish line.

It is 15 more days to fight, and the time to act is NOW.

Join Our National Advocate Call Wednesday

Our first step is getting this community back together.

Wednesday, August 26 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET, 7-HOPE Alliance will host a National Advocate Call live on YouTube and X to explain what this extension means and announce the next phase of our federal advocacy campaign.

We’ll be talking through the new actions advocates can take during this critical 15-day window, and we’ll be updating our Federal Action Page with everything you need to participate.

Join us Wednesday. Get informed. Get organized. And get ready to activate.

Help Us Keep Fighting
Today is a win, but this fight is far from over.

The next 15 days will require even more outreach, organizing, scientific engagement, policymaker education and advocacy.

And 7-HOPE can only keep doing this work with the support of this community.

If protecting access to 7-OH matters to you, please consider making a donation today.

👉 DONATE TO HELP SAVE 7-OH

Every contribution helps us keep fighting, keep organizing and keep making sure this community is heard at the highest levels of government.

To everyone who signed this petition, shared it, submitted a comment, made a call or told your story: this is your win too.

They heard us. We have more time. Now let’s make it count.

With gratitude,
Jackie Subeck and the 7-HOPE Alliance Team
