The new Labour Government has decided to scrap the Winter Fuel Allowance for 10m pensioners.

This will mean that pensioners who are just above the level for claiming Pension Credit will suffer hardship this winter.

In addition, other pensioners on low to middle incomes will suffer.

Pensioners are the backbone of our country.

They have worked hard, raised families and contributed to our country.

Why should the sacrifices they made now be punished by this Labour Government?

After all, the Labour Party was founded to stand up for the working classes, the vulnerable and the poor.

We believe this move by Starmer's Government is cruel and unnecessary.

Pensioners will be forced to make the choice between heating and eating.

They should not have to live in fear of putting their heating on and being afraid of not being able to afford to pay their utility bills.

We call upon the Government to reverse this decision and restore the Winter Fuel Allowance as a matter of urgency.
