Dear Mr. Mueller, Ms. Falar, and Members of the Coronado Unified School District Board,

We, the parents of students at Coronado Unified Shool District, are writing to express our deep concern about recent incidents that have affected the sense of safety and trust within our school community.

Over the past year, several serious situations — including reports of bullying and, most recently, a violent altercation between students — have raised alarm among families. These events have left many parents and students feeling uncertain about the level of protection and support currently provided at the school.

As parents, we believe that the well-being and safety of every student must be the top priority. We send our children to Coronado Middle School with the expectation that they will be in an environment that is safe, nurturing, and conducive to learning. We are now asking for greater transparency and immediate action to restore confidence in that commitment.

We respectfully request that the school and district take the following steps:

• Hold a public community meeting with school and district leadership to discuss these concerns openly and answer parents’ questions.
  Provide a clear and detailed safety plan, including preventive measures, supervision protocols, and reporting processes for bullying and violence.
• Improve communication with families, ensuring timely and transparent updates about serious incidents and safety initiatives.
• Increase visible supervision and accountability throughout school grounds, during transitions, lunch periods, and after-school activities.
• Encourage collaboration with parents who wish to contribute to creating a safer, more inclusive, and respectful school culture.

We urge the district to schedule this meeting promptly and to provide interpretation services as needed so that all families can participate fully.

Our goal is to work together with the school to make Coronado Middle School a place where every student feels secure, respected, and motivated to learn.
