Urgent Repairs Needed on NYS Route 133 in Ossining/New Castle

Urgent Repairs Needed on NYS Route 133 in Ossining/New Castle
The Issue
The undersigned citizens who live or travel within Ossining, New Castle and the surrounding areas would like immediate attention to be given to the dangerous conditions of disrepair along one of the main arteries entering our community, specifically the stretch of State Route 133 (also known as Croton Avenue, Upper Croton Avenue, and Somerstown Road) that runs from Pleasantville Road in Ossining to Conte Lane in New Castle.
According to the NYS DOT Region 8 Operations Division, much of this stretch is designated “Red," meaning it is in dire need of repair. Even though it is one of the worst rough road sections on Route 133, it is not yet slated for blacktop resurfacing.
We recognize that our elected representatives at the local, county & state levels are trying to help. However, the collective voice of our unified community on this matter carries great strength. We all pay taxes with the expectation that the NYSDOT will allocate resources towards prioritizing, at minimum, the work that needs to be done most urgently. We are signing this petition to elevate our concerns and demand immediate action to cure this dangerous section of road.
