My name is Poorya Kolahdouz Mashhadsaraei, an Iranian national and a refugee recognized and registered with UNHCR Thailand.

On July 28, 2026, I was physically assaulted, harassed, and threatened with further violence at Venum Training Camp in Pattaya, Thailand. The incident followed a confrontation related to my social media activity, where I have used my platform to speak about the oppression of the Iranian people and their struggle against the Islamic Republic. The incident also included false religious accusations against me. I sustained injuries requiring medical attention.

I have video evidence of the assault, witnesses, medical documentation, and other relevant evidence.

I have formally filed a criminal complaint with the Thai police:

I am fully cooperating with the investigation and have been referred for a forensic medical examination to officially document my injuries. I am also receiving legal assistance and support from CAP (Center for Asylum Protection).

As a recognized refugee, I remain seriously concerned about my personal safety and protection situation in Thailand following the assault and threats.

WE DEMAND URGENT ACTION

1. ROYAL THAI POLICE

Ensure a prompt, impartial, and thorough investigation, including the video evidence, witnesses, threats, and forensic medical evidence. If the allegations are substantiated, appropriate legal action should be taken under Thai law.

2. UNHCR THAILAND

Urgently review my protection and safety situation and provide appropriate protection assistance and referrals. I respectfully request an assessment of whether my circumstances and protection needs warrant consideration, under applicable procedures and criteria, for resettlement or another safe third-country solution.

3. HUMAN RIGHTS & REFUGEE ORGANIZATIONS

Please monitor this case and consider appropriate legal support, advocacy, documentation, protection assistance, or referrals.
