URGENT: Prevent Posie Parker entering Aotearoa NZ - revoke her visa.
The issue
We call on Hon Michael Wood, Alison McDonald, and Richard Owen to immediately revoke the visa issued to Posie Parker (Kellie Jay Keen Minshull) under Section 16 of the Immigration Act (2009) on the grounds that she is a threat to security, public interest, and public order.
Posie Parker's record includes (but is not limited to):
- Threatening to 'annihilate' transgender people, gender diverse people, and 'anyone else who stands in her way'
- Encouraging men to carry firearms into women's bathrooms to hunt down trans women
- Welcoming members of designated terrorist group The Proud Boys to speak and be present at rallies, including taking a photo with a Proud Boy who took part in the insurrection at the US Capitol in 2021
- Holding rallies that were attended and supported by neo-Nazis
- Holding rallies where her supporters assaulted counter-protesters, including transgender people
- Visiting, speaking alongside, and taking selfies with a racist, anti-semitic Norwegian extremist who is also a Holocaust denier
- Participating in a video with a far-right white supremacist YouTuber
- Saying that transgender men should be sterilised
- Known for her racism, Islamophobia, anti-semitism, and ties to far-right white nationalists
- Publicly threatening the PM of Aotearoa NZ - Chris Hipkins - whilst performing white supremacist hand signals
Posie Parker/KJK's record of dangerous behaviour is publicly available. It is blatantly obvious that she is a threat to Aotearoa NZ's security, especially as last week was the fourth anniversary of the Christchurch tragedy, and the neo-Nazis and white supremacists who glorify the shooter are among her supporters. Her record also clearly shows that she is a threat to public order and the public interest, particularly of the transgender, gender non-conforming, and Muslim communities. We do not want a repeat of her Melbourne rally, where neo-Nazis supported her and were permitted to stand on the steps of parliament and march through the streets performing the seig heil.
The New Zealand Labour Party says they support the LGBTQIA+ and other marginalised communities. Words mean nothing without real action. We call on the Minister of Immigration Hon Michael Wood, the Head of Immigration NZ Alison McDonald, and the General Manager of Immigration Richard Owen to urgently and immediately revoke Posie Parker/Kellie Jay Keen Minshull's visa and refuse to allow her to enter Aotearoa NZ.
