Following a burglary in the block on Sat 2 Aug where robbers drilled through the lock of a flat’s front door (see photo), the residents strongly encourage Sterling Estates Management, the designated manager of the property, to undertake a review of the property’s security ASAP.

The residents hereby urge Sterling to:

1. Install high-quality cameras on every floor (basement to Floor 6), the lift, the stairwell, and the parking.
2. Change the code to the main door now and every 3 months, as it hasn’t been changed in the past five years. 
3. Peform a comprehensive Security Assessment of the block. This should include securing all entry and exit points using cameras, tags and valid permits.

The aforementioned would be a step in the correct direction, as the burglary should be recognised for what it truly is: a much needed wake-up call to make neccessary security upgrades to the block.
