Every responsible pet owner wants to get their cats neutered or spayed, but the cost is simply so expensive, that some owners are unable to afford this treatment.   Neutered cats are much better pets and studies have also shown that females spayed before they are six months old have a significantly reduced risk of mammary (breast) cancer.  Neutered males cannot develop testicular cancer, and spayed females cannot develop uterine or ovarian cancer, and both have a reduced risk of mammary cancer.   It is also the case that if male cats are neutered later or not at all, they may continue aggressive scent-marking (spraying with urine), out of sheer force of habit.   If a cat is left unneutered, the cats can reproduce numerous times during their lifetime giving birth themselves to over 200 kittens, in just 12 years.   1 cat x 6 kittens per litter x 3 litters per year x 12 years =   216  possible kittens over 12 years  216 kittens x 6 kittens per litter x 3 litters per year x 12 years =  46,656 possible kittens over 12 years  46,656 kittens x 6 kittens per litter x 3 litters per year x 12 years = 100,77,696 possible kittens over 12 years  1 cat, 100,77,696 kittens over a 12 year period The cycle continues, and this is just from one cat.  These figures are shocking  The lucky cats get to live with loving caring owners, but sadly for each of these there are hundreds not so lucky. They are either euthanized, abandoned or suffer horrifically at the hands of some evil humans.   The abandoned ones become totally feral, and then live in colonies and can get diseases which can spread and which can be passed onto domestic cats.  For the ones who become ill, they will then suffer pain and eventually die without ever knowing of human love and kindness.  Animal rescues and sanctuaries are overrun with unwanted kittens and cats.  Some of the rescue centres only home the cats for a certain length of time before they then have to be euthanized, and the cost in food, cat litter, cleaning products, vaccinations etc is huge.   We need to bring down the cost of this particular medical procedure.
