IMPORTANT: PREPAREDNESS GAP IDENTIFIED FOR GEOMAGNETIC STORMS AMONGST CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE OPERATORS - THIS IS IMPORTANT TO HIGHLIGHT AS OUR GEOMAGNETIC FIELD IS WEAKENING
Today's update from Ben Davidson features news of 'havenbound': a resource we can use to assess the safety risks of our geographical location and to locate places which might be appropriate areas of refuge and sanctuary as planetary changes unfold; a CME which is expected to not interfere too much with Earth's geomagnetic field; a geological study of Greenland, a new potential method of forecasting space weather which integrates physics with real-life observations and analysis to model solar activity; and research on the effects of a weak geomagnetic field on aging by studying migratory birds and marine mammals, which found hypomagnetic fields modulate lifespan, physical ability, and mitochondrial metabolism.
This is important as our geomagnetic field is weakening and we may see an impact on rates of aging and disease.

Also mentioned is a study on the measures taken by critical infrastructure operators to mitigate against the effects of solar storms. Quote from study: "We identify a preparedness gap where larger companies have the ability to harden networks before operations, but smaller ones may choose to accept the risk of the storm due to high costs. Ultimately, this study highlights that instead of only purchasing new equipment, operators identified the need for more accurate, localized, space weather warnings from the government to protect critical infrastructure."
Ben also mentions how scientists from NASA and Air Force generals stated at a National Space Weather Conference in 2015 how we are underprepared in terms of our infrastructure for solar storms. This is very important to highlight as our geomagnetic field is weakening, and as mentioned before, we risk infrastructure damage, but there is also a significant risk to our wellbeing and potentially survival. Given how financial constraints are limiting the ability for smaller critical infrastructure operators to make necessary changes, and given how even larger operators will likely need to make their systems more robust and be flexible in terms of being able to make adaptations quickly, we should seriously consider offering subsidies to critical infrastructure operators.
We should also consider a 'traffic light system' for the aviation industry to guide passengers and crew. We could also potentially use a similar system to warn of seismic activity based on pre-earthquake signals and other geological data. I am not a scientist, but the first option is definitely viable, and both should be given due consideration.

We have created a global petition to urgently raise awareness of the geomagnetic pole shift and AMOC decline so the 'burden' of insight can be shared and we can co-operate compassionately and peacefully as one human family.
