Currently standing at an impressive 1700 signatures, our collective voice is making waves, but we must push harder to break past the 2000-signature milestone.

**Recent Incidents Highlight the Urgency:**

Since our last update, the disturbing incidents of antisemitism have continued to escalate, revealing a stark reality that demands immediate attention.

• 11 individuals, including two TDSB teachers, a lawyer, and a York University professor, were charged in a hate-motivated crime for vandalizing Indigo on the eve of Kristallnacht. These acts are not isolated incidents of mischief; they expose the deeply rooted systemic antisemitism within our institutions.
• Parents in St Paul’s who have chosen to send their children to a Jewish school, seeking an environment free from discrimination, were recently subjected to a terrifying bomb threat that forced the school to close. This marks the second incident of hate targeting the school in the last few weeks.
• The Starbucks on Eglinton was vandalized, and a local woman, entrusted with the care of our community's children, was charged with a hate crime. 

**Jill Andrew's Silence is Unacceptable:**

Despite the collective call from 1700 concerned individuals, our Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP), Jill Andrew, has yet to respond and show her support for our community. Our community has a right to be heard, and Jill's silence is deafening. We have received reports from individuals who have witnessed Jill's advocacy for marginalized communities, asked her for her support, yet when it comes to our Jewish community's struggles, she remains unresponsive.

Additionally, we have formally requested a meeting with the leader of the NDP Provincial party, Marit Stiles, to discuss the critical issues facing our community. Unfortunately, our calls have gone unanswered, leaving us questioning why the NDP party cannot find candidates who support the large Jewish constituency in our riding. Another clear example is Sidney Cole, the former St. Paul's NDP candidate, who resigned after making inflammatory statements blaming Israel for the lack of Covid vaccines in Canada.
