We, the undersigned, respectfully request that Melissa Lucas be granted permission to visit her adult son, David Longenetta, who is currently hospitalized in critical care at United Hospital Center while in state custody.

We understand that there are security policies and procedures that must be followed when an individual is in state custody. However, we respectfully ask that compassionate consideration be given to this extraordinary and urgent circumstance.

David Longenetta is currently in critical care receiving medical treatment. His condition has placed his family in an extremely difficult and frightening situation. As his mother, Melissa Lucas is asking for the opportunity to see her son during this critical time.

Regardless of David's current legal circumstances or custody status, he is still Melissa's son, and she is still his mother. If a person is critically ill, the opportunity for a parent to see and speak with their child can be deeply important to both the patient and the family.

We are not asking for David's custody status to be changed, nor are we asking that security procedures be disregarded. We are simply asking that Melissa be granted a compassionate visitation exception, subject to whatever reasonable security measures, supervision, escort, restraints, or other conditions the State and United Hospital Center deem necessary.

This request is being made out of love, compassion, and concern for David's well-being. Melissa should not have to face the possibility of her son being critically ill without being given the opportunity to see him simply because he is currently in state custody.

We respectfully ask the appropriate state custody officials and medical authorities to act as quickly as possible and allow Melissa Lucas to visit her son, David Longenetta, at United Hospital Center, provided that his medical condition permits visitation.

During times of critical illness, compassion matters. We ask that the circumstances surrounding David's hospitalization be considered on an individual basis and that his mother be allowed the opportunity to be by her son's side during this extremely difficult time.
