I am writing this because my 8-year-old son is being targeted and physically attacked by aggressive turkeys while walking home from school. These aren’t just "nuisances"—they are stalking and causing physical and emotional trauma to a child who did nothing to provoke them.

I have contacted the Rock County DNR Warden and was told there is "nothing they can do" but scare them away. We have tried that. It isn't working. These birds are habituated and have lost their fear of humans.

Public safety—especially the safety of our minors—should never take a backseat to a "standard procedure" that isn't working.

I am starting a formal petition to force the Wisconsin DNR and the Janesville Common Council to issue an emergency removal permit before a child gets seriously hurt.
