We, the undersigned citizens and professionals, request the urgent introduction of a direct flight route between Pune (PNQ) and Udaipur (UDR).

Currently, there is no direct flight connecting these two important cities—a serious gap in connectivity for thousands of working professionals, students, tourists, and families who frequently travel between the regions of Maharashtra and southern Rajasthan.

 

🚨 Why This Route is Essential:

Large Workforce Base: A significant number of employees working in Pune’s booming IT, manufacturing, and automotive sectors hail from Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, and other nearby towns.

Poor Rail and Road Alternatives:

Only one weekly train connects Pune to Udaipur (taking over 19 hours).
Bus travel takes more than 20–22 hours, making it highly inconvenient and impractical for frequent travelers.

No Seamless Air Travel:

The current air options require 1–2 stopovers, taking 6–10 hours with long layovers and high fares.
This discourages both professional and leisure travel between the regions.

Tourism Boost:

Udaipur, the “City of Lakes,” is one of India’s top domestic and international tourist destinations.
Pune, as Maharashtra’s cultural capital, also draws significant tourist footfall.
A direct flight would benefit tourism, local economies, and interstate cultural exchange.
