Request for your assistance in preventing the  ongoing damage and closure of Ramana’s Seva Samiti CharitablePrimary/Jr. High Schools and Children's Home in Rishikesh India. We have weathered many storms in our ongoing fight against poverty, corruption, caste,discrimination and racial prejudice, but what we are facing now goes beyond anything we have ever been attacked with.

We are under attack from a greedy hotel owners. They have already broken several of our classroom foundations making them dangerous and unsafe for the children to study in.  When they broke the roof of our library water poured in destroying most of the children's precious books. They then violently attacked our director in the library where over 20 students were trying to save their books resulting in physical injuries.

 Twenty-Two years ago the state government recognized and appreciated the work we were doing and the powerful results it was making in the lives of poor children and their families. We acquired village government land on renewable lease to grow our organic vegetables, build our school buildings, computer labs, girl's hostels/homes, playgrounds, bakery, homes for our staff, cows, chickens, and goats. In these years we have provided Free Education to 5000+ of the poorest of the poor students who would otherwise have had no chance to study and become the successful doctors, pilots, engineers, professors, lawyers, teachers, psychologists and business men and women they are today. Today these same buildings provide absolutely free education, books, school uniforms, emergency medical, and nutritious mid day meals to 240+ poor village children. Another 22 are studying on free scholarships for higher education today. They also provide a safe loving home for girls who would otherwise be at great risk without safe shelter, good nutrition, medical care,  free education, and vocational training.
Unfortunately in the 28 years since we bought our land here in the village and started the project our property value has shot up into millions of dollars. All corrupt eyes are now on it. If we don’t stand to stop this they will somehow manage to TAKE our land and close the Free School. 

We need to have our Govt. Lease on the school property extended and made permanent now for our school's protection!

,We urgently need your help for this. Your voices carry a lot of power.  We have had thousands of visitors over the years. Many of you have been here and seen with your own eyes the miracles happening through our project. You have supported our efforts for these women and children with your donations, time and again over the years. Not only have you supported children’s education, many all the way through university, but you also provided employment for dozens of teachers, women's vocational training, and income for many local traders for all these years.

 You have the right to request the government to honor and protect these children, their right to free education, as well as your investments. School reopened on 3rd of July and we need to keep it open!
