Urgent help needed!!!!!
The Issue
The Issue
My name is Regan Ross, and my family is being torn in two—not by choice, but by the wait. I’m a wife to a Nigerian citizen, who needed to return to Nigeria in January 2022 to expedite urgently needed appendectomy surgery required by my mother-in-law.
Right now, my husband is continuing to help his now-recovered mom, while I remain in Canada working 3 jobs.
My husband and I have always worked as a team, but we’ve now been separated for over 4.5 years. The burden is crushing—for him, for me, and most of all, for our moms.
We lost my father-in-law during covid lockdowns and my husband and mother-in-law were unable to properly grieve his loss.
If nothing changes, our family will continue to suffer—not just emotionally but our mental health. Our marriage is tested daily by circumstances we never asked for. No family should have to endure this level of separation while following the legal process in good faith. We’re NOT asking for shortcuts or money—we’re asking for compassion, discretion, and lawful urgency. We're asking for non-monetary help navigating the Canadian immigration system to get my husband home to me in Canada.
Every day that passes is another day we go without the steady, faithful presence of each other. Time is sacred when it comes to marriage. We filed multiple Permanent Residence applications and multiple visa applications, and are fully committed to completing the legal process properly. The Canadian government permits expedited processing in cases of family separation and hardship—and our family qualifies. What we need now is your voice. Your emotional support. Your compassion.
