Current laws allow public photography/videography, anywhere where one could assume they are not actually in private, pretty much the second you leave your house .
These laws have not been properly updated since the development of internet or social media. Now simultaneously with catastrophic levels of cyber bullying the production and sales of an even more invasive product the Meta/Ray-ban glasses, allowing wearers a live stream to connect with followers in real time through the smart glasses. The feature is available on Facebook and Instagram. To start a livestream: all you need to do is to ensure your glasses are powered on and connected to the Meta View app.

One can no longer enjoy the beach to name just one situation without threat of being posted globally in real time, in exact location. One understands and accepts they are in public place on the beach, that is very different to understanding that your child playing in a bathing suit on the beach is being live streamed in real time, exact location globally. These glasses look like the average sunglasses, there is very little warning to allow people to understand they are being live streamed against their will, and if they so wish  to move to privacy. Meta / Ray-ban wearers are even having a private conversation with someone completely unaware that they are being recorded and posted in real time, in real location . This is a very serious breach of data protection, safety and privacy. 

Meta / Ray-bans  is a catastrophic development for child safety, women’s safety and even being able to enjoy the beach without being live-streamed globally . Meta / Ray-ban should not be able to capture or stream any third party images at all.

please sign this petition to demand a prompt and extensive review of privacy laws with full  consideration of the the exhaustive and lifelong breech in privacy once images and videos are posted on the  internet and social media, regardless if one was in a public space or not.

our children’s future depend on us to fight proactively instead of reactively for their privacy now. Meta /Ray-ban live-streaming of third parties must be stopped and laws must be updated urgently.
