Urgent Collective Request to Meta for Human Review of Facebook “Inauthentic Engagement” Re
Le problème
To: Tom Alison, Head of Facebook, Meta Platforms, Inc., and the Facebook Creator Monetization and Integrity Teams
We, the undersigned Facebook creators and Page administrators, respectfully request an urgent human-led review of recent monetization and recommendation restrictions classified as “Inauthentic Engagement” or “Fake Engagement.”
In recent weeks, numerous independent creators across different countries have reported receiving similar restrictions, sometimes without being given sufficiently specific information identifying the content, activity, or behavior that triggered the enforcement.
Some affected creators state that they have never purchased followers, likes, comments, views, or used bots or coordinated fake-engagement services. Many have built their Pages organically over years and depend on Facebook’s monetization programs as an important source of income.
We fully support Meta’s efforts to combat bots, manipulation, spam, purchased engagement, and genuine abuse of monetization systems.
However, legitimate creators must also have access to transparent and meaningful review when automated or other enforcement systems may have produced false positives.
We are therefore respectfully asking Meta to:
Conduct a human-led review of the documented affected Pages included in this collective case.
Provide affected creators with sufficiently specific information about the behavior or policy issue that caused the restriction.
Restore monetization and recommendation eligibility where restrictions are determined to have been applied incorrectly.
Restore eligible withheld earnings where the underlying restriction is determined to have been erroneous.
Provide an effective appeal mechanism with meaningful human review.
Publish clearer guidance explaining how legitimate organic engagement, viral growth, sharing to Facebook Groups, and normal audience activity are distinguished from prohibited fake or coordinated engagement.
This petition is supported by a separate registry of documented cases containing Page IDs, restriction dates, screenshots, appeal outcomes and support case numbers where available.
We are not asking Meta to protect creators who intentionally manipulate engagement. We are asking Meta to ensure that legitimate creators are not incorrectly penalized and that enforcement decisions affecting creators’ livelihoods are transparent, reviewable and fair.
We respectfully ask Meta to investigate this pattern and provide an official response to the affected creator community.
