Urgent Call: UM6P Must End Collaboration with Israeli Universities and Firms

The Issue

Following recent atrocities by Israeli forces, including the deaths of over 34,000 Palestinians, including 14,500 children, and injuring 78,000 more, the crisis in Gaza has reached a critical stage.

Currently, 1.7 million civilians, 600,000 of whom are children, endure dire conditions worsened by violence in Rafah. UNICEF reports widespread vulnerabilities, including disabilities, malnutrition, and disease.

UM6P's collaborations with Israeli universities and companies have profound implications for its community and values. While ostensibly aimed at academic progress, these partnerships directly enable and legitimize the Israeli government's violations in Palestinian territories, compromising UM6P's reputation and the principles it must strive to uphold. Continuing these collaborations sends a message that profit and academic advancement are prioritized over basic human dignity and respect for international law.

For reference, these links direct to official UM6P websites acknowledging collaborations with Israeli institutions: link1, link2, link3.

Now is the time for action. This is a call for all students, faculty, and staff of UM6P, as well as the broader community.

Please join us in signing this petition and voting for UM6P's divestment from all collaborations with entities from Israel, including universities and companies.

Note: This petition is a peaceful effort intended to convey our message to the university, and we do not intend to organize any public demonstrations. All we want is for our voices to be heard!

(Please avoid using paid promotions for this petition since we're mainly aiming to connect with people from UM6P. If we promote it on change.org, it'll reach a wider audience beyond our target, and that would be a waste of your money. Instead, focus on sharing it directly with individuals from UM6P.)
