Urgent Call for Improved Safety Measures at Rugby Long Lawford Primary School

Urgent Call for Improved Safety Measures at Rugby Long Lawford Primary School
The Issue
Dear Residents and Concerned Citizens,
We are writing to you with a matter of utmost urgency regarding the safety of our community, particularly our children attending Rugby Long Lawford Primary School. Despite serving as a vital hub for education, accommodating up to 630 children from ages 3 to 11, our school lacks essential safety infrastructure such as a proper crossing point or traffic calming measures.
The current state of traffic and parking around the school is nothing short of perilous. The absence of adequate measures poses a significant risk, potentially leading to dire consequences such as accidents or worse. It is imperative that immediate action be taken to address this pressing issue before tragedy strikes.
Residents and concerned parents have reached out to the Tory council, only to be met with a disappointing response claiming that all possible measures have been exhausted. However, we refuse to accept this as the final verdict. Our community's safety is non-negotiable, and we demand swift and effective solutions.
To rectify this hazardous situation, we propose the implementation of the following measures:
1. Installation of traffic calming measures to mitigate speeding and reckless driving in the vicinity of the school.
2. Enhancement of signage for clearer guidance to motorists and pedestrians.
3. Extension of no-parking zones along the main road to ensure unobstructed passage and visibility.
4. Establishment of a safe crossing point, such as a zebra crossing, to facilitate secure access to the school for students and families.
We urge you to stand with us in solidarity by signing this petition. Together, let us send a resounding message to the council that the safety and well-being of our community are paramount and cannot be overlooked.
Thank you for your support and commitment to ensuring a safer environment for all.
Sincerely,
