We implore them to provide the essential funding and support needed to ensure the continued operation of the Safe Night Space for Women in Perth.

The Safe Night Space for Women has been a vital refuge for women facing homelessness in Perth. This essential service provides a safe, secure environment, shelter, and access to critical resources for those in need. With the current housing crisis in Perth, the closure of this facility would be devastating for vulnerable women in our community.

It is deeply concerning that, as of September 2023, there were 520 women experiencing homelessness in Perth, either sleeping rough or temporarily sheltered. Furthermore, homeless women are exposed to a higher risk of violence, with a shocking 64 per cent reporting attacks since becoming homeless.
