Subject: Urgent: Do Not Leave Maryam Behind in the UK Evacuation Efforts

Dear Prime Minister, Home Secretary, Foreign Secretary, Deputy Prime Minister, Department of Health Officials, NHS, and Members of the Gaza Taskforce,

I write with urgency and deep concern following today’s announcement that the first critically ill children from Gaza have been successfully brought to the UK for treatment under the NHS. This is an important and hopeful step, yet it is vital that we do not leave behind those most in need, particularly Maryam Dawas, a severely malnourished 9-year-old child in Gaza City who has lost more than half her body weight during this conflict and is now unable to walk.

Maryam’s case is emblematic of the very purpose of this mission:

She is in critical medical condition, with her life dependent on urgent hospital care unavailable in Gaza.

Maryam has already been placed on WHO evacuation lists, and her family’s plight is documented, transparent, and supported by thousands of petitioners in the UK and abroad.

At this moment, the UK has a moral and humanitarian duty not to let bureaucracy or logistical barriers decide whether a child lives or dies. The NHS has opened its doors to children like Maryam; the Gaza Taskforce has committed itself to life-saving action. Yet Maryam remains trapped, at daily risk of death from starvation, dehydration, and untreated complications.

I urge you to ensure that Maryam and her immediate caregivers are included in the next cohort of evacuations. To save other children while leaving her behind would undermine the principle of fairness and compassion on which this mission stands. Britain’s reputation as a global leader in humanitarian action rests on its willingness to protect the most vulnerable, without delay or discrimination.

Every day matters. Please act now to secure Maryam’s evacuation and NHS treatment, before it is too late.

Spread this petition far and wide.
