We are pleased to provide an update on our ongoing petition regarding the Heidedal Quarry incident. On June 16, 2025, the Heidedal Church Commitment, in collaboration with Kairo FM and the Neighbourhood Watch, successfully hosted a Memorial Service at Quarry. This heartfelt event commemorated those who lost their lives in the tragic incident, bringing together families of the victims and the community for a moment of remembrance and solidarity. The service, held from 11:00 to 13:00, received notable coverage on SABC 1 https://youtu.be/tF3gHbyBySQ?si=15r_nFd9uipmEIOt , highlighting the significance of the occasion and the ongoing concerns surrounding the quarry.We extend our gratitude to all who participated and supported the memorial, which served as a powerful reminder of the need for action. However, we are still awaiting feedback from Parliament regarding our petition. We urge our representatives to address this matter promptly and provide the necessary support and resolutions for the affected families and community. Further updates will be shared as we receive responses from Parliament.
