The Issue

I’ve been a loyal supporter of Zeus Network for years, profoundly Deaf, and always excited to dive into the vibrant world of entertainment that this platform offers. However, lately, my anticipation turns into frustration and disappointment as I try to watch one of my favorite shows, Baddies USA, without subtitles or captions. It feels as though I've been denied access to a community that I have cherished, simply because I cannot hear. This neglect directly impacts not only me, but the entire Deaf and Hard of Hearing community who rely on these services.

Subtitles and closed captions are not a trivial matter. According to the National Association of the Deaf, there are over 48 million Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals in the United States alone. Without proper captions, we find ourselves excluded from engaging with content that others can easily enjoy. This is not a matter of luxury but a basic right to accessibility.

Despite numerous requests from myself and others, Zeus Network continues to overlook the necessity of providing adequate subtitles and captions for their programs. This lack of consideration is not just an impediment to accessibility but signals a disregard for a dedicated section of their audience.

We aren't asking for much. Implementing subtitles and closed captions is a manageable adjustment that several streaming services have successfully incorporated, ensuring that their content is inclusive and accessible to all. We implore Zeus Network to reconsider their stance, to take action and fulfill their implicit promise to make their platform open to everyone, regardless of hearing ability.

There are realistic and effective solutions available that Zeus Network can implement without monumental cost or effort. Utilizing established captioning software or partnering with experts in accessibility can ensure quality subtitles for all their shows. Making these changes will not only show respect and inclusivity for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community but will also expand Zeus's reach to potential subscribers, enriching their own community.

Join me in urging Zeus Network to recognize their responsibility towards creating an inclusive experience. Let's stand together to voice the necessity for subtitles and captions, ensuring that entertainment is accessible to everyone. Sign this petition and help us champion accessibility for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
