The Issue

The re-coloration of the I-75 pillars has been selected without much thought to the city's color context. West Carrollton, my home, and yours, among many others, is deeply connected with the colors red and black. These are the colors that have symbolized our unity, strength, and identity. Unveiling pillars in blue and white is an unfortunate oversight that makes us feel cutoff from our own identity. It resembles too closely to Miamisburg’s colors, undermining our unique local identity.

Even our new police cars have been thoughtfully painted black aligned with the city's color scheme, restricting any unintended resemblance. Our yet to open school, a beacon of our community, stands close to these pillars - the gateway to our pride and future. Their colors should celebrate our spirit, our character!

We urge you, the West Carrollton council, to reconsider the choice of colors for the I-75 pillars, marking our shared territory, our shared identity. Let's preserve the visual heritage and pride that has been long associated with the West Carrollton City.

Your signatures can help to appeal this cause demanding to echo our community's voice and reevaluate the colors for the I-75 pillars. Please sign this petition and show your support.
