Urge Valve to Correct My 119th Medal in Team Fortress 2

The Issue

I am an avid fan of games provided by Valve. In 2008, I bought the Orange Box on Xbox 360 upon its release. Unfortunately, it did not receive further updates, which led me to buy Team Fortress 2 on PC yet again. Valve then introduced the 119th medals, representing the time we, as loyal players, bought the game. These medals are more than mere decorations; they signify our loyalty, dedication, and history with the game. But, instead of the expected gold, I received a silver medal, a glaring inconsistency considering the time and resources I've invested into pursuing my passion.

I've aired my grievances on various gaming forums without any meaningful resolution. My attempts to reach Valve were met with rejection and no explanation. This has been disheartening as I've spent $120 in total, a large investment for a game that is now free, with the expectation that my commitment would be recognized fairly.

According to Statista, Team Fortress 2 had an average of 71.9 thousand players per day in 2020. This is not just my problem, but potentially a concern for thousands of players who may have also been misrepresented in terms of their in-game history and dedication.

Therefore, we call upon Valve to correct medaling discrepancies starting with my 119th medal. The correction should reflect our accurate history and demonstrated commitment in playing Team Fortress 2. Players deserve their proper recognition and this change would be a significant step towards ensuring transparency in the gaming community. Please sign this petition to support the fair representation of our gaming history.
