Mastino Rescue has repeatedly shown a lack of transparency and ethical behavior. Good breeders, including members of the United States Neapolitan Mastiff Club (USNMC), have been deliberately kept in the dark about dogs they produced, leaving them helpless while Mastino Rescue continues to block attempts to retrieve these dogs, even when breeders are more than willing to take them back! Ask yourself, why would any reputable rescue refuse to return a dog to the person who brought them into the world and is fully capable of providing for them? Why was the USNMC "Rescue Liaison" involved in the decision not to tell the breeders? Something isn't right!

For years, Mastino Rescue has placed dogs in long term boarding, some with breeders who would have taken their dogs back if they had been notified. Just think, Mastino Rescue cost donors over $100,000 in boarding fees alone from 2022-2023, wasting resources on hoarding dogs for months or years without actively seeking homes for them. There is little quality of life for these dogs but USNMC continues to support this! Could it be because of the conflict of interest between the Mastino Rescue board and USNMC board????

Mastino Rescue's decision to buy dogs from auctions also goes against USNMC's policy and contradicts AKC guidelines for reputable rescuing. By giving money to the puppy mill industry, the rescue is supporting those who breed dogs for profit, while throwing responsible breeders and AKC guidelines to the wind. How is this ok?

Mastino Rescue is failing these dogs and failing everyone who has supported them in good faith. They have even adopted out dangerous dogs after they have attacked people while in the rescue's care! We refuse to sit by and watch this continue. USNMC needs to stop endorsing this rescue before more damage is done, not just to the breed but to the reputation of the club, and its breeders as well as all donors.

Sign this petition today to demand that the USNMC withdraw its support from Mastino Rescue. We need transparency, accountability, and proper care for our Mastini—anything less is unacceptable and we will raise this issue with AKC if the club does not take action!
