Urge US Politicians to Repair the Broken Sewage Plant Poisoning SoCal Beaches

Urge US Politicians to Repair the Broken Sewage Plant Poisoning SoCal Beaches

The Issue

I've always loved the beaches near the border, I grew up surfing these waves and basking in the sun. Recently, this joy has become increasingly marred by a grimy, unsettling reality. Our beloved beaches and the water we surf and swim in are becoming health hazards due to a defunct sewage treatment plant. Billions and billions of gallons of contaminated water are being allowed to flow into the area, turning a paradise into a dying ecosystem.

This is not just an isolated concern for a few beach-lovers and surfers. This issue is causing significant damage to local marine ecosystems. It affects tourism, a key engine of our local economy, and it's slowly killing the natural beauty we are privileged to enjoy.

It's unacceptable that the problem has been allowed to persist for so long. Therefore, we urge our appointed representatives to take action. We need our politicians to prioritize the repair and systematic upgrade of this failing sewage plant. It's a task of vital importance, which will safeguard public health, protect our environment, and assure the continued enjoyment of our coast.

We ask for accountability, urgency, and transparency in dealing with this crisis. Sign this petition to emphasize the importance of this issue to our USA politicians, and to push for immediate resolution.
