Urge US DOT to Construct High Speed Rail on US ROUTE 50 to Promote U.S. Growth
The Issue
I am Jeremiah Bessette and for two decades, I have been commuting weekly for both business and personal trips. In these journeys, I've noticed the potential growth opportunity that cutting-edge transportation can bring to our country. Today, I am stepping forward to suggest a remarkable opportunity for America's economy, infrastructure, and overall improvement - the construction of a high speed rail system along US ROUTE 50.
This rail system would bring forth countless benefits for both commercial and personnel transportation needs, and it has potential to develop new cities along its route. This initiative would give our country a leap forward in transportation efficiency, create jobs, and stimulate economy growth. According to the American Public Transportation Association, every dollar invested in public transportation generates approximately $4 in economic returns (APTA, 2019).
The proposed rail route won't just stand alone. It should also promote state and private funding for local high speed rail systems to branch off like tributaries, thus providing more detailed network of fast and effective transposition system across the country. Not only can the traditional construction process be utilized, but we also recommend considering innovative methods like underground pathways in collaboration with The Boring Company, Tesla, CRH, and others.
We recommend 10 teams over the span of roughly 10 US States. Target open date of November 1, 2027. This will ensure completion under current administration and keep costs from skyrocketing. Strict budgets and early completion Bonuses are the game plan. Show California how these projects are done.
