Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies are currently under focus across America. The University of Delaware has a crucial role to play in this landscape. This petition urges the University of Delaware to join other colleges and universities in supporting the letter of a call to Constructive Engagement over the Trump administration's policies. There are already precedents for this type of resistance — Harvard University, for example, has refused to cave into such pressures which resulted in a funding freeze of $2.2 billion by the administration. Harvard University has decided to sue the administration. More than 700 colleges and universities in the U.S. have affirmed their commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity, according to American Council on Education (ACE).
