📜 Semitism, and the Biblical Blessing: 
A Comprehensive Critique of the Racial and Religious Foundations of Zionism

Political Zionism, since its emergence in the 19th century, has rested on two central pillars:
First, the claim that contemporary Jews—particularly those from Eastern Europe—are direct ethnic descendants of the ancient Israelites and thus represent an original Semitic people. 
Second, the theological claim that they are the “chosen people of God,” exiled unjustly and now divinely entitled to return to the land of Palestine. 
However, upon close examination through the lenses of scripture, history, and modern science, both claims reveal deep manipulation, turning religious and racial concepts like "Semitism" and "blessing" into political tools to justify a modern colonial project.

✦ 1. Semitism as a Racial Category – A Pseudo-Scientific Myth
The term "Semitism" originally emerged in Europe as a linguistic classification to describe languages such as Arabic, Hebrew, and Aramaic. However, it was later distorted into a supposed “racial” category used to differentiate between peoples and to elevate the so-called Aryan European race. In this process, Semitic peoples—especially Jews and Arabs—were portrayed as emotionally driven, intellectually rigid, and inferior. Eventually, for political reasons, the concept of "Semitism" came to refer exclusively to Jews, particularly in the context of "anti-Semitism", while Arabs, who are equally Semitic in language and historical origin, were excluded.

✦ 2. The Khazar Hypothesis and the Challenge to Jewish Ethnic Origins
Zionist narratives assert that Ashkenazi Jews—those of European origin—are direct genetic descendants of the ancient Israelites. However, this assertion has faced serious scholarly challenge, most notably through the Khazar Hypothesis, supported by researchers such as Eran Elhaik (2012). According to this theory, Ashkenazi Jews are partly descended from the Khazars, a Turkic-Caucasian people who converted to Judaism in the 8th century CE before migrating into Eastern Europe. Genetic studies have shown that Ashkenazis are more closely related to Caucasus populations than to peoples of the Near East. In contrast, modern Palestiniin genetic studies to share strong similarities with ancient Canaanites and Israelites, suggesting a more direct link to the region’s Semitic heritage than European Jews themselves.

✦ 3. The Manipulation of “Chosen People” and the Biblical Blessing
Zionist ideology also invokes the Book of Genesis to claim that Jews are the sole inheritors of God's promise to the patriarchs. Yet a close reading of the biblical text tells a different story. God’s covenant with Abraham includes the promise: "In your seed all nations of the earth shall be blessed." (Genesis 22:18). This blessing was not exclusive to Isaac; Ishmael was also blessed: "As for Ishmael, I have heard you. I will surely bless him and make him fruitful and increase his numbers greatly." (Genesis 17:20). Nevertheless, Zionist theology narrows the blessing exclusively to the descendants of Jacob (Israel), erasing Ishmael’s lineage—despite the fact that the scriptural texts do not exclude it.

✦ 4. From Prophecy to Politics – Turning Blessing into a Justification for Statehood
What is most alarming in Zionist discourse is the transformation of a spiritual concept—the divine blessing and chosenness—into a political license. The prophet Jacob (renamed Israel) is thus reimagined as the modern State of Israel, and the biblical blessing—originally conditional on faith and obedience—is reinterpreted as an unconditional and perpetual right of ethnic superiority and territorial sovereignty. Under the pretext of this "divine right", the Palestinian people—indigenous to the land and historically embedded in its Semitic fabric—were ignored, displaced, and demonized. Meanwhile, European Ashkenazi Jews, despite their geographical and genetic detachment from the region, were granted priority and legitimacy.

✦ 5. Who Are the True Semites? A Historical and Moral Irony
When we strip away ideological distortions, a striking irony emerges:
The Ashkenazi Jews who migrated to Palestine were, in large part, of Caucasian or European origin, speaking European languages, and practicing Judaism as a religious or cultural identity. In contrast, the Arab Palestinians are not only the indigenous inhabitants of the land, but also speakers of a Semitic language, and descendants of ancient Canaanite, Aramaic, and Arab peoples who have lived in the region for thousands of years. Genetic analyses confirm that Palestinians are closer to ancient Israelites than Ashkenazi Jews are. In short, the people expelled from their land—Palestinians—are the ones most historically and biologically connected to the biblical narrative, while those who came as settlers invoking “Semitic rights” are, ironically, the most removed from those origins.

✦ Conclusion
It becomes clear that the concepts of "Semitism", "divine chosenness", and "biblical blessing" have been selectively reinterpreted to support a modern colonial project grounded in theological distortion and racial myth-making. The racial version of Semitism is not scientifically credible; the divine election of a people is not unconditional; and the scriptural blessing does not justify the dispossession of an indigenous population.
It is time to deconstruct these modern myths and to reread ancient texts through a lens of justice and universal ethics, rather than through the prism of power and entitlement.

We Urge the UN to Repeal Resolution 46/86 and Reinstate Resolution 3379: Zionism is a Form of Racism

In 1975, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 3379, which defined Zionism as a form of racism and racial discrimination. In 1991, under political pressure, this resolution was revoked by Resolution 46/86.

Today, more than three decades later, the facts speak for themselves: Zionism — as implemented by the State of Israel — is a system of racial segregation, oppression, and institutionalized discrimination against the Palestinian people.

We, the undersigned, call on the UN General Assembly to:

Repeal Resolution 46/86.
Reinstate Resolution 3379, reaffirming that Zionism is a form of racism.
Recognize that Israel’s current policies constitute apartheid, as documented by major international human rights organizations.
Uphold the UN’s founding principles against racism and discrimination.

السامية ، والبركة التوراتية: نقد شامل للأسس العرقية والدينية للصهيونية

✦ مقدمة
قامت الصهيونية السياسية منذ نشأتها في القرن التاسع عشر على مرتكزين رئيسيين:
الأول هو الادعاء بأن اليهود المعاصرين، خصوصًا القادمين من أوروبا الشرقية، هم امتداد عرقي مباشر لبني إسرائيل القدماء، وبالتالي "شعب سامي" أصيل؛ 
والثاني هو الادعاء بأنهم "شعب الله المختار"، ممنوعون من الشتات، وموعودون ببركة إلهية أبدية وحق لا يقبل النقاش في أرض فلسطين. 
غير أن هذين المرتكزين، عند التمحيص في ضوء الدين والتاريخ والعلوم الحديثة، يكشفان عن تلاعب بالغ، جعل من مفاهيم "السامية" و"البركة" أدوات سياسية لتبرير مشروع استيطاني عنصري معاصر.

✦ أولًا: السامية كتصنيف عرقي – خرافة عنصرية
مصطلح "السامية" نشأ في أوروبا للاستعمال في تصنيف اللغات الشرقية، لكنه سرعان ما تم تحويره ليصبح تصنيفًا "عرقيًا" يفرّق بين البشر، ويعطي الأفضلية للعرق الآري الأوروبي. وفي هذا السياق، تم تصوير "الساميين" بأنهم شعوب أدنى من حيث العقلانية والإبداع، وجرى إدراج اليهود والعرب ضمن هذا التصنيف، ولكن لأغراض سياسية، تم قصر مصطلح "السامية" لاحقًا على اليهود فقط، وارتبط بمصطلح "معاداة السامية" الذي صار يُستخدم دفاعًا عن اليهود دون سواهم، رغم أن العرب هم كذلك من الشعوب السامية لغويًا وتاريخيًا.

✦ ثانيًا: فرضية الخزر ونقد الأصل العرقي لليهود الأوروبيين
الرواية الصهيونية تنطلق من افتراض أن اليهود الأشكناز – الغالبية القادمة من أوروبا – هم امتداد جيني مباشر لبني إسرائيل القدماء. لكن هذا الزعم واجه تحديًا كبيرًا من خلال ما عُرف بـ"فرضية الخزر"، التي طرحها علماء وباحثون أبرزهم إرهان إلهايك عام ٢٠١٢. ووفق هذه الفرضية، فإن الأشكناز ينحدرون جزئيًا من شعب الخزر، وهم قوم قوقازيون من أصول تركية اعتنقوا اليهودية في القرن الثامن الميلادي، ثم هاجروا إلى أوروبا الشرقية. وتحليل الجينات أظهر أن الأشكناز أقرب إلى سكان القوقاز منهم إلى سكان الشرق الأدنى. على الجانب الآخر، أظهرت دراسات حديثة أن العرب الفلسطينيين يحملون أنماطًا جينية قريبة من الكنعانيين واليهود القدماء، ما يجعلهم أقرب إلى الشعوب السامية الأصلية من اليهود الأشكناز أنفسهم.

✦ ثالثًا: التلاعب بفكرة "شعب الله المختار" والبركة في سفر التكوين
تستند الصهيونية إلى نصوص من سفر التكوين لتدّعي أن اليهود هم وحدهم الورثة الشرعيون لوعد الله بالأرض، لكنها تتجاهل أو تحرّف المعنى الأصلي للنصوص. فالوعد الإلهي بالبركة بدأ مع إبراهيم عليه السلام، الذي قيل له: "ويتبارك في نسلك جميع أمم الأرض"، وهو وعد يشمل إسماعيل وإسحاق، لا إسحاق فقط. وإسماعيل نال بركة واضحة في النص: "ها أنا أباركه، وأثمره، وأكثره كثيرًا جدًا". ومع ذلك، فإن الفكر الصهيوني انتقى فقط نسل يعقوب (إسرائيل) ليختزل فيه البركة، متجاوزًا إسماعيل وكل من ينتسب إليه، رغم أن النصوص لا تقصيهم.

✦ رابعًا: من النبوة إلى الدولة – تحويل البركة إلى مبرر سياسي
أخطر ما في الخطاب الصهيوني هو أنه حول المعنى الديني للبركة والاختيار من مقام روحي إلى مبرر سياسي. فصار يعقوب (النبي إسرائيل) يعني دولة إسرائيل الحديثة، وصارت البركة التي كانت وعدًا مشروطًا بالإيمان والطاعة، ترخيصًا دائمًا بالامتياز العرقي والسيادة السياسية. وباسم "الحق الإلهي"، تم تجاهل وجود الشعب الفلسطيني، الذي لم يغادر أرضه، بل بقي فيها منذ آلاف السنين، وكان دائمًا جزءًا من النسيج السامي المشرقي. وفي المقابل، مُنح اليهود الأشكناز القادمين من أوروبا حقًا فوقيًا رغم انقطاعهم الجغرافي والبيولوجي عن أرض فلسطين.

✦ خامسًا: من هم الساميون حقًا؟ المفارقة التاريخية والأخلاقية
حين نحلل الواقع بعيدًا عن الروايات السياسية، نكتشف مفارقة لافتة: فاليهود الأشكناز الذين هاجروا إلى فلسطين هم غالبًا من أصول قوقازية أو أوروبية، يتحدثون لغات أوروبية، ويعتنقون اليهودية كشكل ثقافي أو ديني. أما العرب الفلسطينيون، فهم ليسوا فقط سكان البلاد الأصليين، بل أيضًا يتحدثون لغة سامية، وينحدرون من شعوب كنعانية وآرامية وعربية عاشت في المنطقة منذ آلاف السنين. بل إن التحاليل الجينية تُظهر أنهم أقرب إلى بني إسرائيل القدماء من اليهود الأوروبيين أنفسهم. المفارقة أن من طُرد من أرضه – الفلسطيني – هو الأجدر بالتاريخ والبركة والحق، بينما من جاء مهاجرًا باسم "الحق السامي" هو الأبعد عن جذوره.

✦ خاتمة
يتضح أن مفاهيم "السامية" و"الاختيار الإلهي" و"البركة" قد تم توظيفها بطريقة انتقائية لتبرير مشروع استعماري يستند إلى أسس لاهوتية وعرقية هشة. فلا السامية العرقية قائمة على أساس علمي، ولا الاختيار الإلهي مطلق وغير مشروط، ولا البركة التوراتية تبرر سلب أرض شعب أصيل لحساب جماعة مهاجرة. لقد آن الأوان لتفكيك هذه الأساطير الحديثة، وإعادة قراءة النصوص الدينية بمنطق العدل، لا بمنطق الغلبة.

نطالب الأمم المتحدة بإلغاء القرار 46/86 وإعادة تفعيل القرار3379:

 الصهيونية شكل من أشكال العنصرية

في عام 1975، اعتمدت الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة القرار 3379، الذي اعتبر الصهيونية شكلاً من أشكال العنصرية والتمييز العنصري. وفي عام 1991، وتحت ضغوط سياسية ودبلوماسية، تم إلغاء هذا القرار بموجب القرار 46/86.

اليوم، وبعد أكثر من ثلاثة عقود، تؤكد الوقائع أن الممارسات الصهيونية — كما تطبقها دولة إسرائيل — تتسم بسياسات فصل عنصري واضطهاد وتمييز منهجي ضد الشعب الفلسطيني.

إلغاء قرار الجمعية العامة رقم 46/86.

إعادة تفعيل القرار رقم 3379، الذي يصف الصهيونية بأنها شكل من أشكال العنصرية.

الاعتراف بأن سياسات إسرائيل الحالية تمثل نظام فصل عنصري موثق من قبل منظمات دولية كبرى.

دعم تحرك دولي عادل يعيد الاعتبار للمبادئ الأممية في مناهضة التمييز العنصري.

لماذا يجب أن توقّع؟

لأن حقوق الإنسان لا تتجزأ.

لأن الأمم المتحدة يجب أن تكون منبرًا للعدالة، لا للرضوخ للضغوط السياسية.

لأن تجاهل الواقع العنصري للإحتلال الإسرائيلي هو خيانة لمبادئ المساواة والعدالة.
