Urge UEFA to ban PSG from next year's Champions League

Urge UEFA to ban PSG from next year's Champions League

The Issue

In recent times, as I walked through our once-bustling city streets, I have been overwhelmed with a deep sense of loss. Numerous local businesses have been reduced to piles of shattered glass and broken dreams. I've witnessed livelihoods disappear, almost overnight, all because of the unruly actions of certain football fans. The aftermath isn't just physical; it scars us emotionally and economically. Such devastating vandalism was catalysed by fans of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) during their visits, leading me to question the responsibility of football clubs and the governing bodies in protecting our communities.

Football has always been a sport of passion, unity, and camaraderie. However, when the passion turns into destruction, it's time to take decisive action. UEFA, as the governing body of European football, has a responsibility to ensure that the events it sanctions do not bring chaos and destruction to the cities which host these games. We shouldn't have to live in fear of our city being targeted and wrecked multiple times due to the irresponsible behaviour of travelling fans.

The repercussions extend beyond immediate damages. Local entrepreneurs lose their place of work, employees their jobs, and residents feel unsafe in their own neighbourhoods. With cities left to foot the bill for clean-up and repairs, public resources become strained, impacting the quality of life for everyone.

Therefore, I urge UEFA to take a stand by prohibiting PSG from participating in next year's Champions League. This move would send a strong message to all clubs: accountability matters. Clubs must take responsibility for their fans' actions, and sanctions should reflect the gravity of the situation.

By signing this petition, you are advocating for safer community spaces, respecting local businesses, and urging football authorities to prioritize community well-being over profit and entertainment. Let's make a stand for our city and communities everywhere that might be affected. Please sign the petition today and support this call for accountability and action.
