Urge tiktok to lift post sharing limitations

The Issue

I frequently use TikTok, and like many others, I've seen the platform's huge potential to foster creativity and spread important information. However, I often find myself facing a frustrating limitation: the restriction on how many posts one can share. This is disheartening, especially when there's essential content that needs to be circulated, like safety tips for women in public.

TikTok has become a cultural phenomenon and a critical medium for expression across the globe. With millions of users actively engaging and creating content, sharing posts is crucial for widening the reach of valuable messages. It ensures that informative, entertaining, and critical content available on the site finds its way to a broader audience. Whether it’s shedding light on social issues, promoting awareness, or sharing joyful entertainment moments, being able to readily share posts reinforces TikTok's core purpose.

Limiting post sharing inadvertently stifles this potential. As users and content creators of this vibrant platform, we seek a space where we can freely exchange ideas without unnecessary barriers. While excessive sharing may be problematic, moderated sharing aligned with user interests and needs can revolutionize user experience and enhance community engagement.

Backing this change would demonstrate TikTok's commitment to fostering an inclusive space for all voices. Additionally, this could evolve TikTok's functionality for better service to users like me, who are eager to improve the platform for everyone involved. Zhang Yiming, the founder, undoubtedly has robust financial resources to make this user-oriented change without compromising TikTok's profitability.

I’m calling on Zhang Yiming and the TikTok team to remove or revise their current limitations on post sharing. Let’s transform TikTok into a platform that epitomizes openness and connectivity. Join me in urging TikTok to embrace this change to honor its vibrant community’s needs.

Please sign this petition if you believe in a more connected and impactful TikTok experience.
