The United Nations is starting to hear about the tortuous testing on beagles

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for your ongoing support with this urgent petition.
We are currently in the process of emailing all 193 Member States within the United Nations regarding the cruel scientific abuse that is forced upon thousands of beagles worldwide. By doing so, every single United Nations Representative will know about this unwarranted abuse that is ruthless, outdated and unreliable when used in human trials. We are respectfully calling upon the United Nations Environment Programme within its mandate and in consultation with Member States and relevant United Nations bodies, to initiate the establishment of an international convention dedicated to ending the commercial breeding of beagles and to accelerate a transition away from the use of purpose-bred beagles in scientific research and testing worldwide.
By reducing reliance on large-scale animal research activities, the convention would help address associated environmental impacts, including resource consumption, waste generation, and the infrastructure required to maintain research facilities. By ending unjustified scientific practices towards thousands of beagles, we can establish a more sustainable environmental footprint.
The UNEP has an important role in addressing the relationship between environmental protection, sustainability, and animal welfare. This initiative would encourage a more sustainable and environmentally responsible approach to scientific research while promoting urgent animal welfare. When more than 190 million animals are estimated to be used or killed each year for scientific purposes, the time has come to actively address the non-animal methods that are already available and ready to use.
Marshall BioResources - the world's biggest commercial breeder of beagles for scientific research has faced significant legal and public backlash regarding its environmental footprint, most notably resulting in a court-ordered halt to its international expansion plans.
We want to see every single beagle (roughly 16,000-20,000) set free from Marshall BioResources. We want to see all heinous testing on beagles abolished. Tests that leave them with one eye, tests that leave them in tremendous pain burning them to death from the inside out while being forced to inhale toxic deadly chemicals like pesticides for hours and days on end. Marshall BioResources deliberately breeds beagles for agonising vivisections and these types of barbaric tests must end now. In 2026 this is no longer acceptable.
To imprison 20,000 beagles in filthy cages for 24/7 with no natural light, no exercise, no nutritious food or clean water or any enrichment is a violation of their rights as sentient beings. We are also requesting that the United Nations finally implement the 'Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare' after 20 years since it was first introduced. It is time for all animals that are abused in scientific research and entertainment to be recognised as sentient beings.
If you 100% agree with this, you can also email the United Nations Environment Programme to express your opinion on this urgent crisis and to demand this cruelty end today. The more they hear from us, the greater the chance that this issue will receive attention at the United Nations General Assembly. Email address to the Executive Office: unep-executiveoffice@un.org
Let’s see every single beagle set free to live the lives they were meant to live—with the right to freedom, the right to life, and the right to bodily integrity.
