Stop Executions and Protect Prisoners in Iran

We, the undersigned, submit this urgent appeal on behalf of CIDHR – Canadian‑Iranian Doctors for Human Rights, calling for immediate action to halt executions and protect the lives of prisoners in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iranian authorities are reportedly using the death penalty as a tool of repression. Many detainees—arrested for protesting or expressing dissent—face execution without fair trials, often after torture and coerced confessions.

We demand that Dr. Mai Sato, UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran to

Call for an immediate moratorium on all executions
Demand commutation of all politically-motivated death sentences
Secure urgent access to hospitals, prisons, and official documents
Press for independent monitoring and accountability
