I am starting this petition to address an issue that affects our fundamental freedom of sexual expression in a country that prides itself on upholding civil liberties. Recently, there has been a petition/proposal to ban ALL depictions of school uniforms in adult content in the UK. As a citizen, I am deeply concerned about this move, as it represents a worrying overstep into the personal preferences of consenting adults.

Let me be clear:  depictions of obvious adults in school uniforms do NOT depict sexualized children. 

This is a vital distinction that must be understood. These depictions are about exploration, personal expression, engaging with themes of sexual learning, aesthetic clothing preference, and nostalgia — all entirely legal and consensual activities between adults. 

To potentially have the government dictate what consenting adults can enjoy in terms of adult content is an alarming breach of privacy and personal autonomy.

In a free society, there is no place for government overreach in censoring adult content that involves willing participants simply because of the clothes they are wearing. 

~ It is essential to maintain a clear boundary between protecting children, which is a priority we all share, and curbing the rights of adults to create and enjoy legal content as they see fit. 
This slippery slope of moral policing in private matters will have far-reaching and unintended consequences for all forms of free expression.

Statistics from numerous studies show that censorship does little to replace comprehensive education and awareness.  Instead, it creates an underground market where illegal and unsafe practices thrive.  More than anything, this proposed ban is a distraction from tackling the genuine issues of child protection.

Furthermore, it would criminalize people who look at images of ADULTs they find attractive even if the uniform themed clothing is secondary to them.

I urge Prime Minister Andy Burnham and other policymakers to take a step back and consider the broader implications of this proposed censorship. What we choose to engage with as consenting adults should not be subject to government approval. Let us preserve the rich tapestry of adult expression, where diversity, freedom, and understanding are championed.

Clothing isn't inherently an age.  An adult wearing a school-style outfit is not automatically portraying a child.
