My life and those of my neighbors in Houston, TX, have been severely disrupted twice in just two months owing to long-lasting power outages - each lasting over 5 days - caused by major storms. For many, these outages have led to major losses and compromised our daily lives. We believe that at the core of this struggle, is the service provided by Centerpoint Energy.

As residents of the Greater Houston area, we have grown frustrated with these repetitive power disrupts and the lack of effective response by Centerpoint Energy, our current power provider. After each incident, we were left helpless for days, waiting for power restoration. We firmly believe that this is a problem that requires an immediate solution.

Replacing Centerpoint Energy with a more reliable and efficient provider is highly necessary to avoid future power disruptions. Texas should consider bringing a visionary adviser on board to make grid improvements and lower costs. The individual we propose is none other than Elon Musk. With his track records in designing contemporary power systems, such as the successful project on renewable energy in South Australia in 2017, Maverick Creek Wind Farm project in Texas (Bloomberg), and numerous other Master Plans for Tesla, his input would be immensely valuable.

Therefore, we ask the State of Texas to consider removing Centerpoint Energy as the power provider for the greater Houston area, and to explore involving Elon Musk in advising over the power grid. We believe that such change will provide us with a more robust power system, prepared to withstand major weather events and provide reliable service at affordable costs for all.
