Following our comprehensive Global Perspective project, we have developed a profound passion for renewable energy solutions, particularly in public transport. It is crucial that Serbia leads the way in sustainable practices, starting with our public transportation systems.

The Serbian government should take decisive action and switch its public transportation to solar energy, using solar batteries. This not only presents an excellent opportunity to reduce the country's carbon footprint but it could also result in substantial financial savings over time.

Globally, renewable energy is steadily gaining traction. According to the International Renewable Energy Agency, the total renewable energy generation capacity worldwide reached 2,351GW at the end of 2019, an increase of 7.4% over the previous year. Solar power accounted for the largest share of growth at 54%.

Solar energy is highly efficient, especially in countries with considerable sun exposure. Serbia, blessed with an average of 2000 hours of sunshine per year, is in an optimal position to benefit from this conversion.
