The Issue

This petition comes from a deeply personal place, as my father has been struggling with prostate cancer for 14 years. Many of his complications could have been prevented with early detection, a component where increased awareness would make a significant difference.

Every year in America, it's alarming that despite the advances in medical sciences, around 248,530 new cases are reported with Prostate Cancer and lose about 34,130 brave souls to this lethal enemy according to American Cancer Society. These statistics underscore the dire need for us to draw more attention to this disease for promoting better prevention, detection, and treatment.

The NFL, as an institution that resonates with millions of people in the US and across the globe, has a unique opportunity to facilitate this crucial conversation by leading by example. Let's urge the NFL to show their support by wearing light blue, the color symbolizing prostate cancer awareness, during the games in September which also coincides with Prostate Cancer Awareness month.

What might seem like a simple gesture of solidarity can create a ripple effect that enhances visibility for this pervasive disease, potentially prompting more men to prioritize regular health check-ups for early detection.

Let us unite our voices to make a difference. Sign this petition and let's petition the NFL to wear light blue in September. We can create heightened awareness of Prostate Cancer while we cheer for our favorite teams. Together we can, and together we will!
